In 2025, the world will come to the Rhine and Ruhr region to celebrate sport, science and culture. Up to 8,500 athletes and officials from around 150 nations will compete in six cities for 12 days - in 18 different sports. Standards are set here - where the densest university landscape in Europe meets the most sports clubs in Germany, in one exceptionally sport-loving region.

Broadcast Operator (m/f/d)
 
In freelance work (fee-for-service contract) for the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
temporary contract from 13.07. to 28.07.2025
 
The position is located within the Broadcast department. As a Broadcast Operator you will be part of the Host Broadcast Core Team. 
 
The exact date and location of deployment varies for each sport.
 
We are hiring for the following locations and sports:
  • Essen: International Broadcast Centre (IBC)
  • Duisburg: Opening
  • Berlin: Diving & Swimming

Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:

  • Operating broadcast systems for LIVE (vision mixer, camera, EVS, etc.) and/ or non-live (Premere Pro, IP Director, camera, etc.)
  •  Mixing of LIVE productions and/or editing in post production
  • Production of live and non-live content
  • Content management and monitoring of production elements

Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Working proficiency of English required, ideally German as well
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Confident handling of technical equipment for live production (vision mixer, EVS, etc.) and/or equipment/programmes in the non-live area (Premiere Pro, IP Director, content management systems, etc.)
  • Structured experience in working as a VTM, with a specific focus on sport events
  • Reliability
  • Experience and knowledge of RR2025 sports is a bonus

The work is compensated with a project fee based on the period of working days, the demands of the sport and the experience and skills you bring. The travel costs are included in the project fee and will not be compensated.
