Up to 8,500 athletes and officials from around 150 nations will compete in six cities for 12 days - in 18 different sports. Cluster manager Sport Presentation (m/f/d)
 
In freelance work (fee-for-service contract) for the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
temporary contract from 16.06. to 29.07.2025
 
The position is located within the Event Presentation department. As Clsuter Manager Sport Presentation (SPP) (m/f/d), you are responsible for overseeing Sport Presentation operations across a cluster of venues and sports and act as the main liaison between Sport Presentation Venue Producers and the Organising Committee’s Event Presentation core team. The exact date and location of deployment varies for each cluster. 
 
We are hiring for the following clusters:
  • Bochum & Hagen: 3x3 Basketball, 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball, Athletics, Basketball
  • Duisburg & Mühlheim: Badminton, Beach Volleyball, Rowing, Water Polo
  • Essen: Archery, Artistic Gymnastics, Basketball, Fencing, Judo, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis 
  • Berlin: Diving, Swimming, Volleyball

Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:

  • Act as the primary contact person for Sport Presentation during planning and Games Time at the cluster and venue level, together with the individual Venue Producers
  • Manage and coordinate Venue Producers and be able to jump into that role and substitute when required
  • Act as liaison and line of communication between OC Event Presentation team and freelance Venue Producers
  • Schedule and prepare for rehearsals prior to competition days
  • Oversee venue bump-in and bump-out processes at the venue
  • Participate in all venue meetings before Venue Producers’ arrival and as needed during Games Time
  • Develop rundown format, based on the Detailed Competition Activities Schedule (DCAS)
  • Create and participate in the Venue Producer Workshop, Roadbook, and other necessary documents and training for a smooth onboarding experience
  • Gather all official information about sport-specific protocol, general and specific announcements, athlete presentation and introductions
  • Work closely with various Functional Area managers to ensure the implementation of the Sport Presentation concept goes according to plan and schedule

Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Experience working as a Cluster Manager, Venue Producer, or Show Caller, with a specific focus on sport events
  • Strong leadership and ability to manage and work well with a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a dynamic environment
  • Good understanding of the challenges of live production
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Experience working with intercoms and radios
  • Experience working with DCAS
  • Working proficiency of English required, ideally German as well
  • Experience and knowledge of RR2025 sports is a bonus

The work is compensated with a project fee based on the period of competition and rehearsal days, the demands of the sport, and the experience and skill you bring.
