Intern Catering / Food & Beverage (m/f/d)
 
In the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
Full-time / 40 hours per week / compulsory internship for 4-6 months
 
The position is located in the Operations department. As an Intern Food & Beverage (m/f/d), you will support the implementation of Food & Beverage processes. The Food & Beverage team is responsible for the planning, implementation and management of a comprehensive catering concept in our sports facilities and locations before and during the event.
We are looking for the following cities: 
  • Mülheim an der Ruhr (compulsory internship, 6 months)
  • Bochum and Hagen (voluntary or compulsory internship, 3 months)
  • Duisburg (voluntary or compulsory internship, 3 months)

Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:

  • Supporting the venue catering managers at the venues in implementing the catering concepts
  • Independent takeover of sub-projects
  • Testing the scanning function within the Games Management System (GMS)
  • Close cooperation with various departments & caterers
  • Administrative support of the catering areas on site and ensuring the agreed catering levels
  • Implementation of a catering concept in the sports facilities and locations
  • Management of external catering services and quality control
  • Participation in the planning of special events
  • Preparation of documents such as duty rosters for external service providers and volunteers
  • Supporting the planning and implementation of cleaning services and waste disposal during events
  • Monitoring event processes as required by the client groups
  • Supporting the teams at the venues during Games Time (incl. set-up & dismantling phase)

Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:

 
  • Enrolment at a college/university/vocational school, ideally in the fields of F&B management, event management, hospitality management, sports management, sports economics, or similar 
  • Compulsory internship according to study regulations for a duration of 3-6 months or voluntary internship for 3 months
  • Experience in working or volunteering at sports events is an advantage
  • Advanced computer skills and experience in working with database management systems
  • Very good knowledge of Excel
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
  • Flexibility and excellent communication skills
  • Very good knowledge of English is required. Any additional language is an advantage
