In 2025, the world will come to the Rhine and Ruhr region to celebrate sport, science and culture. Up to 8,500 athletes and officials from around 150 nations will compete in six cities for 12 days - in 18 different sports. Standards are set here - where the densest university landscape in Europe meets the most sports clubs in Germany, in one exceptionally sport-loving region.

Intern Events (m/f/d)
 
In the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
Full-time / 40 hours per week / compulsory internship for 3-6 months
 
The position is located within the OC in the Events department. You will support the team in planning the opening and closing ceremonies. You will be responsible for your sub-areas and have a coordinated scope of action.

Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:

  • Independent supervision (planning, organisation, implementation and follow-up) of small and medium-sized projects
  • On-site event support and management
  • Preparation and development of project presentations and meetings as well as documentation and evaluation of discussions 
  • Supporting your direct supervisor within the department
  • Preparation of decision-ready documents
  • Obtaining offers, support with tenders and final invoicing 
  • Collaboration with all functional areas of the OC, including management and interface coordination within the OC

Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Enrolment at a college/university/vocational school, ideally in the fields of sports management, event management, hospitality management, sports economics, or similar
  • Compulsory internship according to study regulations for a duration of 3-6 months
  • Professional experience in the field of events, especially in organisation and planning, or similar
  • Experience in the event sector, ideally in connection with major sporting events
  • Organisational talent and therefore the ability to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Quick comprehension with solution-orientated thinking, so that an overview is maintained in stressful situations
  • Very good communication skills, also in English
  • Strong communication skills, social skills, resilience and flexibility and enjoy working in a team
