In 2025, the world will come to the Rhine and Ruhr region to celebrate sport, science and culture. Up to 8,500 athletes and officials from around 150 nations will compete in six cities for 12 days - in 18 different sports. Standards are set here - where the densest university landscape in Europe meets the most sports clubs in Germany, in one exceptionally sport-loving region.

Intern Volunteers (m/f/d)
 
In the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
Full-time / 40 hours per week / mandatory internship for 3-6 months
 
The position is located in the Volunteer Management department. Thanks to you and your team, around 12,000 volunteers create a unique atmosphere and mood and make a significant contribution to ensuring that everyone involved experiences a unique event.

Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:

  • Coordination of the volunteers at one venue during games time
  • Set-up of the Volunteer Centre at your venue
  • Development of a volunteer benefit programme together with other interns
  • Ensuring good communication with the volunteers in German and English
  • Management of the Volunteer Social-Media-Channels 
  • Assigning volunteers to areas of responsibility in consultation with the functional areas
  • Support with the volunteer shift schedules
  • Support with the volunteer trainings
  • Support with the management of the volunteer database in the front- & back-end
  • Supervision of long-term volunteers

Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Enrolment at a college/university/vocational school, ideally in the fields of sports management, sports economics, event management or similar
  • Mandatory internship according to study regulations for a duration of 3-6 months
  • Interest, fascination and enjoyment of sport and major sporting events
  • Strong communication skills
  • Open, friendly demeanour, team player
  • Structured way of working
  • Good knowledge of Office 365
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
