Junior Manager Accommodation (m/f/d)
 
In the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
Full-time / 40 hours per week / temporary contract until late summer 2025.
 
The position is located in the Operations/Hospitality department. As Junior Manager:in Accommodation, you will be responsible for planning and organising accommodation for athletes and delegations before and during the event.

Following tasks are your main focus:

  • Technical & organisational management of sub-projects in the field of hotels
  • In direct coordination with the direct supervisor, responsibility for the subject area of hotels within the LOC with the following focus areas: 
    • Management of hotel inventories from the date the contract is signed until the end of the event
    • Preparation of reports relating to the contracted, booked and released rooms in preparation for the event
    • Supporting the management of reservations for all participant groups and liaising with the relevant departments and participants regarding changes to hotel allotments and booking dates
    • Supporting the Accommodation Team Leads in the development and implementation of the accommodation booking and management systems as part of the services for the event
    • Supporting the onboarding of additional employees in the Accommodation team
    • Support with invoice control for the hotels you manage 
  • Budget planning and control for sub-projects 
  • Interface function between LOC and the hotel operators

Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:

  • University degree in disciplines such as event or hotel management or comparable qualification  
  • First professional experience in the planning and successful realisation of an event of a similar size
  • Project management skills 
  • Knowledge of the hotel industry
  • Communication skills (also in English) 
  • Routine in information dissemination and organisation
  • Well-structured, conceptual and networked thinking. Strong hands-on mentality
  • Systematic and solution-orientated way of working
  • Sensitivity to the needs of the participants 
  • Persuasiveness, assertiveness & organisational skills 
  • High degree of flexibility and engaging demeanour
 
We are a young & growing organisation in the heart of the Rhine-Ruhr Innovation Hub. You will play a key role in the Organising Committee in the successful planning and implementation of the FISU Games.
