Up to 8,500 athletes and officials from around 150 nations will compete in six cities for 12 days - in 18 different sports. Standards are set here - where the densest university landscape in Europe meets the most sports clubs in Germany, in one exceptionally sport-loving region.

Junior Manager ITO Services (m/f/d)
 
In freelance work (fee-for-service contract) for the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
temporary contract from 14.04. to 31.07.2025
 
The 2025 World University Games will attract a large number of International and National Technical Officials to work across the 19 sport competitions involved in the Games. The Sport Functional Area is responsible for appointing these officials, however after their appointment, the liaison and servicing of these technical officials falls within the area of International Relations. 
 
The Junior Manager ITO (International Technical Officials) Services is responsible for coordinating relevant support services that will assist the International Technical Officials client group attending the Games. 

Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:

  • Coordinate tasks outlined in the project plan as they relate to services for appointed ITOs
  • Implement policies, guidelines and procedures as they relate to the appointed ITOs
  • Provide timely and efficient communication and information to ITOs from the time of their appointment to the post event period
  • Respond to questions and enquiries from appointed ITOs ensuring responses are sent in a timely manner
  • Liaise with sport managers regarding the appointment and registration of ITOs including maintaining the TO database
  • Assist in the development and distribution of the TO (Technical Official) Guide
  • Coordinate relevant plans for ITO travel arrangements, with particular focus on arrival and departure processes
  • Liaise with the appointed travel agency for ITO flight bookings
  • Coordinate and implement the service level plan for TOs during the Games delivery period
  • Work with other FAs in relation to TO uniforms, accreditation, accommodation and transport
  • Liaise with sport managers in relation to ITO requirements for TO venue spaces
  • Be the key liaison for ITOs during the Games delivery period
  • Work in collaboration with other FAs to deliver on tasks as they relate to TOs attending the Games
  • Other tasks as deemed relevant to the level of the position

Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:

  • An academic degree in the area of sport/event management, international relations or other relevant field
  • Have an understanding of the role technical officials have within a sporting event
  • Have an understanding of how functional areas interact in a multi sport event environment to achieve common goals
  • Be motivated to ensure the event experience is amazing for all technical officials at the Games
  • Have a high level of flexibility and be a self starter
  • Be a person who strives to find a solution to challenges
  • Excellent communication and mediation skills
  • Be fluent in English
