Up to 8,500 athletes and officials from around 150 nations will compete in six cities for 12 days - in 18 different sports. (Junior) Venue Manager (m/f/d) for the location Essen
 
In the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
Full-time / 40 hours per week / temporary contract until late summer 2025.
 
This position is located in the OC in the operational area of venue management and is responsible for the sports venues to be defined before and during the event.We are also looking for a (Junior) Venue Manager (m/f/d) for each of the following host cities: 
  • (Junior) Venue Manager (m/f/d) Bochum
  • (Junior) Venue Manager (m/f/d) Berlin
  • (Junior) Venue Manager:in (m/f/d) Duisburg
  • (Junior) Venue Manager (m/f/d) for the sport Basketball (Duisburg, Essen, Hagen)

Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:

  • Specialist planning, organisation and implementation of the event for one or more venues; in collaboration and coordination with the Team Lead Venues
  • Planning, preparation and follow-up of appointments, meetings and presentations
  • Interface management between operator/landlord and organiser/tenant
  • Implementation and monitoring of compliance with official requirements, security-related regulations and ordinances in planning and realisation - in coordination with FA Security
  • Support in analysing requirements, preparing technical tendering and awarding processes 
  • Responsible for managing the creation of overlay plans (taking into account the respective requirements and existing budget planning)
  • Elaboration and preparation of process, time and personnel plans as well as coordination of the trades involved in the event on site
  • Co-operation with all functional areas of the LOC (e.g. the sports, technical, overlay, logistics, security and accommodation departments)

Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Completed training in the field of sports/event management or technical or commercial vocational training with experience in the field of events
  • Project experience and relevant professional experience in the planning and successful implementation of an event of a similar scale
  • Proven experience in the planning and management of a venue
  • Technical (basic) understanding
  • Commercial and customer-oriented approach
  • Sensitivity to the needs of participants and visitors
  • Experience in security management and dealing with public institutions desirable
  • Ability to work in a team and a sense of responsibility
  • Experience in the integration of voluntary structures
  • Time flexibility, also able to work evenings and weekends
  • Very good written and spoken German skills
