Manager Sport Volleyball (m/f/d)
 
In the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
Full-time / 40 hours per week / limited with a reason in kind until late summer 2025.
 
The position is part of Competition Management, Team Sport. As a sports manager, you will be responsible for planning and organizing the sport of rowing before and during the event.

Following tasks are your main focus:

  • Planning, organization and implementation of the sport of rowing in the overall context of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 event.
  • This includes, among other things:
    • Coordination and creation of schedules and schedules for the sport of volleyball (competition schedule and various sport-specific schedules/schedules) 
    • Coordination of the technical set-up, conversion and dismantling of the sport 
    • Coordination with the partners relevant to the sport, in particular sports associations, local authorities and operators of selected sports facilities 
    • Demand and deployment planning for the sports & competition staff (e.g. volunteers, assistants, freelancers, etc.) 
  • Support with budget planning and control for the sport of volleyball 
  • Support in the implementation of tendering and awarding processes, as well as the preparation of contracts in connection with the sport of volleyball (material, equipment, etc.) 
  • Technical management and preparation of meetings and workshops related to the sport, as well as documentation of the results
  • Cooperation with all functional areas of the OC (e.g. Sports Presentation, Venue, Technology, Overlay & Logistics, Security, Food and Beverage, Transport, Accommodation, Doping Control & Medical Services, etc.) as well as with external service providers (e.g. sports equipment suppliers) to ensure proper organization of the sport 
  • Planning, organization and provision of all necessary services for athletes, technical officials and volleyball delegations 
  • Creation and coordination of documents, regulations and documents with information on the implementation of the sport of volleyball

You bring the following skills & knowledge with you:

  • Academic degree in disciplines such as business administration, event or sports management, sports science or comparable degree  
  • Relevant professional experience in the planning and successful implementation of events, ideally in sport and competitive volleyball
  • Experience in working with sports associations and clubs 
  • Knowledge of sports structures/organizations in Germany and at international level 
  • Experience in the integration of voluntary structures 
  • Strong project management skills
  • Well-structured, conceptual and networked thinking, strong hands-on mentality 
  • Sensitivity to the needs of participants and partner organizations 
  • Persuasiveness, assertiveness & organizational skills paired with high emotional intelligence 
  • High degree of flexibility and an engaging demeanor 
  • Good communication skills in english and german
