The position focus on content creation and storytelling for the Media Info System (MIS), an essential resource for accredited media that will feature amazing stories, updates, and quotes from the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU Games.
Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:
- Based on location in Essen and in Berlin
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Media Services team at the respective venues
- Support the MIS team in managing on-site workflows
- Act as a key point of contact for volunteers and staff, ensuring effective communication and task delegation
- Monitor venue-specific coverage to ensure alignment with event objectives and deadlines
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to content creation and distribution
- Assist in content gathering from the Mixed Zone on venue, interviewing student-athletes during peak competition hours and uploading flash quotes to the MIS
- Assist volunteers in filing their own flash quotes
Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:
- Proven experience in content creation, media management, or event coverage (sports events preferred)
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple contributors and tasks simultaneously
- Strong communication and leadership skills for coordinating teams (Photographers’ Coordinator, News Service Coordinators)
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with an eye for detail (News Service Remote Editors)
- Familiarity with media workflows, content management systems, or large-scale information distribution tools (experience with MIS platforms is a plus)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency in English (German is a plus)
