The position is located in the Media Services department. As part of our News Services team, you will be responsible for image reporting and photography of the competitions and events during the FISU Games, including the press conferences, ceremonies, the FISU World Conference, and the festival programme.
Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:
- Capture the most exciting sports moments: Photograph the thrilling and emotional highlights of the FISU Games, authentically conveying the competition’s atmosphere
- Create captivating event images: Produce engaging photos of the entire event programme, from sports competitions to ceremonies
- Examples for the two points above:
- Action shots: photos with moving action (hits, goals, collisions, celebrations, scores, shots, throws etc.), medal winners must be on those photos for sure
- Wow shots: spectacular/scenic/energetic photos
- Venue shots
- Atmosphere at the venue with spectators etc.
- Branding shots
- Support media coverage: Provide high-quality visual content for media coverage and the Media Info System (MIS)
- Collaborate with the Photographers’ Coordinator: Work closely with the Photographers’ Coordinator and other photo journalists to ensure comprehensive coverage of all events and activities. Close cooperation with and support of the student photographers in the photo team
- Deliver quickly: Upload selected photos promptly to central systems to ensure timely publication.
Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:
- Experience as a photo journalist (e.g., sports or event photographer)
- A keen eye for visual storytelling and capturing emotional moments
- Proficiency in photo editing and familiarity with standard tools
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Own professional photography equipment
- Fluency in English (German is a plus)
