Intern Competition Management Basketball (m/f/d)
 
In the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
Full-time / 40 hours per week / compulsory internship for 4-6 months
 
The internship will be completed in the Sports functional area. As part of the team, you will actively participate in the preparation and realisation of the competitions in Basketball. At the beginning you will work mainly in our office in Düsseldorf, the closer we get to Games Time, the more your internship will focus on the host cities Duisburg, Essen and Hagen.

Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks

  • You will provide support in the planning, organisation and implementation of the sport Basketball in preparation for and during Games Time. This includes, among other things:
    • You will support the planning and creation of documents for the various client groups of the sport Basketball (athletes, judges, volunteers, helpers, etc.).
    • You create and coordinate various schedules and lists for the sport Basketball (e.g. in the area of competition schedules, event schedules, etc.) and communicate with various stakeholders in the sport (professional associations, service providers, etc.)
    • You prepare and follow up meetings and take on administrative tasks in the Sport team as well as internal coordination with other departments (e.g. Transport, Food and Beverage, Accommodation, Delegation Services, etc.)
    • You provide support in the area of sports equipment (e.g. preparation, registration, testing, etc.)
    • You support the area of registration and administration of athlete data
  • You support the work, coordination and communication of the International Technical Committee for Basketball in close coordination with the responsible sports manager
  • You are part of Team Basketball during Games Time in the host cities Duisburg, Essen and Hagen

You bring the following skills & knowledge with you:

  • Enrolment at a college/university/vocational school, ideally in the fields of sports management, sports economics, event management or similar
  • Compulsory internship according to study regulations for a duration of 4-6 months
  • Interest, fascination and enjoyment of sport and major sporting events
  • Relevant experience in connection with the sport Basketball
  • Strong communication skills
  • Open, friendly demeanour, team player
  • Structured way of working
  • Good knowledge of Office 365
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
