Up to 8,500 athletes and officials from around 150 nations will compete in six cities for 12 days - in 18 different sports. Intern Transportation (m/f/d)
 
In the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
Full-time / 40 hours per week / compulsory internship for 3-6 months
 
The position is located in the Operations - Transportation department. As a member of the Transportation team, you will be primarily responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive transport concept for all participants, athletes and other stakeholders.

Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:

  • You are part of the ‘Transportation’ department
  • Development of sub-projects for the topic area of Transportation (e.g. Bus Operations, Fleet Operations, Venue Operations, Arrival & Departure)
    • Participation in the content development & implementation of the concept for a transport, airport arrival/departure and parking strategy
    • Participation & implementation of a transport plan to transport the various participants such as athletes, officials and other stakeholders from multiple hotel clusters & cities to the competition and special events
  • Managing relationships with transport and fleet providers
  • Liaising with police, regulatory and road traffic authorities to ensure smooth operations while minimising the impact on local residents
  • Contact person within the organisation for sub-areas of the topic of transportation 
  • Participation in the coordination of the activities required to organise the event and the targeted preparation of information for a wide range of stakeholder groups
  • Support in the development of emergency plans for sub-areas in the thematic field of transport

Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Enrolment at a college/university/vocational school, ideally in the fields of Logistics/Transportation, event management, hospitality management, sports management, sports economics, or similar  
  • Mandantory internship according to study regulations for a duration of 3-6 months
  • Experience in working or volunteering at sporting events is an advantage
  • Project management skills
  • Interest, fascination and enjoyment of sport and major sporting events
  • Strong communication skills
  • Open, friendly demeanour, team player
  • Structured way of working
  • Good knowledge of Office 365
