Up to 8,500 athletes and officials from around 150 nations will compete in six cities for 12 days - in 18 different sports. Associate Venue Producer (m/f/d)
 
In freelance work (fee-for-service contract) for the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
temporary contract from 09.07. to 27.07.2025
 
The position is located within the Event Presentation department. As an Associate Venue Producer (m/f/d), you are responsible for supporting the Venue Producer and helping manage the Sport Presentation team and resources at the venue. Your main goal is to help create an engaging Sport Presentation show and enhanced experience for spectators and student-athletes. The exact date and location of deployment varies for each sport.
 
We are hiring for the following locations and sports:
  • Bochum: 3x3 Basketball, 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball, Athletics
  • Duisburg: Rowing, Water Polo
  • Essen: Artistic Gymnastics, Basketball, Fencing, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Taekwondo 
  • Mülheim: Badminton
  • Berlin: Diving, Swimming, Volleyball

Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:

  • Report directly to the Venue Producer and assist with implementation of all Sport Presentation operations on site
  • Prepare, collect, and/or distribute key documentation, including run-downs (based on the DCAS – daily competition activities schedule), schedules, updates, and research material related to the competition
  • Assist the Venue Producer with cueing the team, and takeover show responsibilities in the event the Venue Producer is not present
  • Support the Venue Producer as a Stage Manager on the field of play during the competition, as needed
  • Coordinate the Event Presentation workroom and spaces
    Participate in all Venue Briefing and Debrief meetings with or on behalf of the Venue Producer, as needed
  • Assist with scheduling, preparation, and implementation of all necessary team training and rehearsals prior to competition days
  • Help manage team communication, especially with volunteers, and provide translation between team members when required

Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Experience working in production or stage management, within sport events would be a bonus
  • Confident leadership and ability to manage and work well with a team
  • Excellent communication and initiative
  • Ideally experience working with intercoms and radios
  • Ideally experience working with DCAS
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to follow procedures and instructions
  • Working proficiency of English and German 
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Experience and knowledge of RR2025 sports is a bonus
