In 2025, the world will come to the Rhine and Ruhr region to celebrate sport, science and culture. Up to 8,500 athletes and officials from around 150 nations will compete in six cities for 12 days - in 18 different sports. Standards are set here - where the densest university landscape in Europe meets the most sports clubs in Germany, in one exceptionally sport-loving region.

Freelancer Spectator Services (m/f/d)
 
In freelance work (fee-for-service contract) for the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
temporary contract from 15.07. to 26.07.2025
 
The position is located in the Spectator Services department. As a Freelancer Spectator Services, you will ensure that viewers want for nothing. 
 
The exact date and location of deployment varies for each location.
 
We are hiring for the following locations:
  • Cluster Essen: 16.07. - 26.07.2025
  • Essen Etuf: 17.07. - 26.07.2025
  • Mülheim: 16.07. - 26.07.2025
  • Sportpark Duisburg: 21.07. - 26.07.2025
  • Cluster Berlin: 15.07. - 24.07.2025

Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:

  • Responsibility for one venue of a specific sport, including the coordination of volunteers, shift planning, briefings, and ensuring all services for spectators are delivered
  • First point of contact for up to 100 volunteers on-site, as well as for venue management – ensuring close and effective cooperation
  • Organization, supervision, and daily support of the spectator service volunteer team
  • Implementation and oversight of effective crowd management strategies, including coordination in case of on-site issues involving spectators
  • Ensuring the smooth running of daily operations and the successful delivery of all services throughout the event
  • Providing care and support for spectators, with a focus on ensuring their well-being and a positive event experience
  • On-site contact person for spectators, responsible for managing and resolving any issues directly at the venue

Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of German and English
  • Availability during the specified period
  • Experience in dealing with customers and complaint management
  • Experience in leading and motivating a team

The work is compensated with a project fee based on the period of working days, the demands of the sport and the experience and skills you bring. The travel costs are included in the project fee and will not be compensated.
