In 2025, the world will come to the Rhine and Ruhr region to celebrate sport, science and culture. Up to 8,500 athletes and officials from around 150 nations will compete in six cities for 12 days - in 18 different sports. Standards are set here - where the densest university landscape in Europe meets the most sports clubs in Germany, in one exceptionally sport-loving region.

Intern Accommodation (m/f/d)
 
In the implementing company of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games
Full-time / 40 hours per week / compulsory internship for 3-6 months
 
The position is located in the Operations / Accommodation department. As an Intern Accommodation, you will assist the Accommodation team in planning and organising accommodation for athletes, delegations and other groups of people before and during the event.

Specifically, your area of responsibility will focus on the following tasks:

  • Support with the consolidation of the accommodation plan
  • Participation in the management of the hotel inventory until the end of the event
  • Coordination of the allocation to the respective hotels
  • Preparation of reports regarding the contracted, booked and released rooms in preparation for the event
  • Supporting the management of reservations for all participant groups and liaising with the relevant departments and participants regarding changes to hotel allotments and booking dates
  • Supporting the Accommodation team in the development and implementation of the accommodation booking and management systems
  • Participation in the organisation of training courses for volunteers

Ideally you have the following skills and knowledge:

  • Enrolment at a college/university/vocational school, ideally in the fields of Tourism, event management, hospitality management, sports management, sports economics, or similar  
  • Mandantory internship according to study regulations for a duration of 3-6 months
  • Experience in working or volunteering at sporting events is an advantage
  • Project management skills
  • Interest, fascination and enjoyment of sport and major sporting events
  • Strong communication skills
  • Open, friendly demeanour, team player
  • Structured way of working
  • Good knowledge of Office 365
